When Gertrude Kasle opened
the Gallery in February, 1965, she made the announcement
with a press release in the Detroit News.
This press release, in a very concise way, expressed her
ideals and her viewpoint of American art at the time;
and yet it still has some ring of truth forty-one years
later. Please receive this copy as this website’s first
